Designing a network requires a deep and comprehensive understanding of not only the technology involved, but also all of the many other aspects that affect the way the network will be deployed. The network design must take into account all deployment and construction practices as well as the appropriate operational processes to ensure that the network can be deployed and operated efficiently. A design that does not cater for such will most likely fail to meet the business needs it is trying to address.
